Our Philosophy

At Chasing Resilience, we believe that while the past can shape the present, it doesn’t have to define the future. Healing begins with connection—to yourself, to others, and to your story—and through that connection, meaningful growth and transformation are possible.

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that therapy should be a safe, compassionate space where individuals are seen, heard, and supported without judgement.

We approach psychotherapy with the understanding that mental, emotional, and physical well-being are deeply personal and that every person carries a unique story, shaped by life's joys, challenges, relationships, and transitions. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, we work collaboratively to explore your concerns, unravel your experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful connections to your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviours. Our goal is to empower lasting change so that your life can be full of balance, strength, growth, and resiliency.

Our Process

We understand that starting therapy is a significant step, and recognize that it is common to feel uncertain about how to begin and what the journey will look like ahead. We believe in full transparency and are here to make it as easy and comfortable as possible. Our clear, straightforward process is designed to guide you through each stage with care and support, helping you feel confident and at ease from the very beginning.

Step 1:

Free Consultation

Your journey begins with a free, no-obligation consultation - available by phone, video, or in person.  During this conversation, we'll learn about your presenting concerns (please know there is no pressure or expectation - you are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready to), we’ll listen to your needs, answer any questions, and will provide you with further clarity and understanding on our therapeutic approaches, modalities, and interventions.

Step 3:

Start Chasing Resilience

(Subsequent Sessions)

From here, the work begins—at your pace, and in a way that feels meaningful to you. Together, we’ll begin developing the tools, strategies, and insights that support resilience, emotional balance, and long-term change.

Each session is a collaborative space, tailored to your evolving needs and experiences. As your goals shift or new challenges arise, we’ll adapt our approach to ensure your therapy remains relevant, effective, and aligned with your journey.

Step 2:

Initial Intake Session
     (50 minutes or 90 minutes)

Once we’ve connected, we’ll schedule your intake session. This is a space for us to explore your story more deeply and holistically. At Chasing Resilience, we believe that diagnoses and presenting concerns are only part of the picture—they do not define who you are.

During this session, we’ll take time to understand not only the challenges you're facing but also the broader context of your life: your relationships, daily routines, self-care practices, and your goals for therapy. This helps us build a fuller picture of your experience and how we can best support you on your path forward.
